Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay is deeply rooted in natives, promoting native plants for a healthy planet. We accomplish this through education, advocacy, and collaboration. And this fall, education and collaboration is all about native seed collecting! To date, we’ve given presentations on native seed collection at our local college, the College of Southern Maryland (in collaboration with University of Maryland Extension Master Gardeners) and at the St. Mary’s Public Library – Lexington Park (in collaboration with St. Mary’s Public Library, Southern Maryland Audubon and Lexington Manor Passive Park Community Garden).
Our virtual Deeply Rooted in Native Seed Collecting presentation was cohosted with Wild Ones Greater Baltimore and is available for viewing.
Marlene Smith, Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay President, would like to thank Amanda Wray, Wild Ones Greater Baltimore President, for the invitation and coordination of the first co-sponsored Wild Ones Greater Baltimore/Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay virtual presentation. And special thanks to Anne Gneo, Wild Ones Greater Baltimore Secretary, for serving as moderator during the Q & A and for the participants’ engagement.
