April 2026 Happenings

Posted on | Public Outreach

Spring is in full swing for Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay! 🌷🎡From spring “cleaning” in three of our partner gardens to installing a new pollinator garden at the Good Earth Natural Food Company, we are enjoying getting back out in the fresh air with our hands in the soil.

ICYMI – In Case You Missed It (or would like to watch again), the recording of our March Garden Chat, The Garden is a Mirror, is now available on our YouTube channel. Many thanks to Chapter Secretary, Miranda Yourick, for an inspirational talk.

Mark your calendars for our inaugural spring plant share to be held on May 9 at the Leonardtown Library. We thought it would be a great way to celebrate Maryland Native Plant Month, May 2026. If your gardens are like ours, this spring has brought many new “volunteer” plants that are begging to be shared with others.

Looking for more plant sales and swaps? Check out this great resource compiled by Amanda Wray, President of Wild Ones Greater Baltimore. Maryland 2026 Native Plant Sales and Seed Swaps is a comprehensive list of upcoming events across the state, compiled from Maryland Native Plant Society and community sources. Please feel free to submit any you know of that are for native plants in Maryland!

Volunteers Welcome!

Please visit our new Volunteer Sign Up form and consider lending a hand at some of our upcoming events or at our garden workdays. Check back often, as new opportunities are constantly being added.

We truly appreciate members who make our garden workdays so much fun (“Many hands make light work!) and those who have signed up to help make our events successful. Your support helps our chapter grow and ensures our vision of native plants and natural landscapes thriving in every community.

Our April events feature something for everyone. New events are being added throughout the month, so please bookmark our events page or our chapter calendar so you don’t miss anything!
